The
2002 voter list is the official baseline used by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to verify citizenship during Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2025 in West Bengal. If your name appears in the 2002 list, you are
automatically considered a verified citizen with residence proof from that year. This reduces scrutiny during BLO visits. The ECI chose 2002 because it was the last major revision before large-scale Aadhaar integration. If your name is missing, don’t panic — BLOs will verify using Aadhaar, school certificates, or neighbor confirmation. Over 60% of current voters were not eligible in 2002 (born after 1984), so absence is normal. Use this list to
strengthen your SIR form.
