Yes. Aadhaar is the primary and mandatory identity proof for SIR 2025 in West Bengal. You must bring the original Aadhaar card for BLO verification and submit one self-attested photocopy with the form. Without Aadhaar, the BLO cannot proceed — your name may be marked for deletion. The photo must be 4 cm in height and 3 cm in width (standard passport size). It should be:

No. Aadhaar is mandatory. PAN card is not accepted as identity proof for SIR. It can only be used as supporting address proof if your Aadhaar address is old. BLOs are instructed to reject forms without Aadhaar. If you have PAN but no Aadhaar, apply for Aadhaar immediately. Use our form to prepare while waiting.

Bring original documents for BLO to verify. Submit self-attested photocopy with the form. Sign each photocopy with “True Copy” and date. BLO will check original vs copy. Do not submit originals — they are returned. Common mistake: submitting only photocopy without original = rejection. Keep originals safe.
